Job summary

Polyzen, Inc. in Apex, NC, is seeking an Extrusion Line Lead to ensure the extrusion line runs efficiently and safely. You will drive production, quality, and cost metrics while guiding a team and maintaining GMP/GDP compliance.

Ideal candidates have 7–8 years of manufacturing or cleanroom experience, strong problem-solving, blueprint reading, and extrusion equipment knowledge. This is an on-site, 2nd-shift role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Seven to eight years in manufacturing, machine operations, or cleanroom environments.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Experience troubleshooting extrusion equipment and performing setups.
• Strong communication and teamwork across cross-functional groups.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related documentation.
• Valid state driver's license required.

Responsibilities

2nd shift Monday-Friday 3:00 pm-11:00 pm About the role:

The Extrusion Line Lead is responsible for ensuring that the extrusion line runs efficiently resulting in high-quality products. This role is a key contributor to the team's continuous improvement efforts in achieving monthly production metrics and in safety, quality, sustainability, and production costs.

What you will do:

• Lead and perform machine setups, production, and development runs to hit desired product specifications without direct oversight from supervision.
• Troubleshoot and complete general maintenance of extrusion equipment.
• Ability to assemble and disassemble extruders for cleaning, and/or job changes that require different tooling with a new setup
• Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) when completing daily tasks.
• Use production travelers and other documentation to identify and confirm raw material accuracy prior to starting manufacturing runs.
• Mix, blend, dry, and transfer raw materials per product specifications.
• Comply and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure all quality documentation is completed correctly.
• Perform inspection of final products to ensure that senior extrusion operators are completing operational reviews in a timely manner.
• Train junior-level extrusion operators and act as the subject matter expert (SME) for all things extrusion.
• Act in a supervisory manner when Extrusion management is not present by leading shift meetings, executing the daily production schedule and assigning job duties to extrusion team.

Who you are:

• High school Diploma or equivalent required
• Seven (7) to Eight (8) years of experience in manufacturing, machine operations, or a cleanroom environment
• Ability to solve mathematical equations that include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of all units of measure
• Effective communication and collaboration amongst co-workers and cross-functional teams.
• Read, interpret, and utilize complex drawings, diagrams, and blueprints.
• Proficiency in operating hand tools or power equipment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Must possess a valid state driver's license.
