Job Details

The Environmental Services (EVS) Shift Manager is responsible for supporting the EVS Director and Operations Managers in overseeing the daily operations of the EVS Department. The Shift Manager coordinates all operational activities as directed by the EVS Director and hospital leadership.

The Shift Manager collaborates with hospital leadership teams to meet productivity, service quality, customer and patient satisfaction goals, and implements cost reduction strategies aligned with hospital EVS objectives. They keep the EVS Director and Operations Managers informed of issues affecting program efficiency and develop staff to ensure program quality, sustainability, and growth, exemplifying the hospital's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Interact professionally with co-workers, visitors, and staff, embodying Jefferson’s values.
  2. Demonstrate leadership consistent with Jefferson’s Mission, Vision, and Values, supporting senior leadership decisions and strategies.
  3. Manage daily EVS shift operations, ensuring service support objectives are met, fostering a positive work environment, and providing operational support to staff.
  4. Coordinate with hospital units to ensure implementation of core programs, conduct rounding and performance inspections, and ensure staff schedules and assignments are completed.
  5. Manage Quality Improvement programs, review customer satisfaction scores, and develop Performance Improvement Plans as needed.
  6. Participate in hiring, mentoring, supervising staff, and promoting diverse teams.
  7. Oversee staff timekeeping and related reports in accordance with hospital policies.
