Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUHA) seeks an Assistant Electrical Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations of the university and MUHA electrical shop in the supervisor's absence.

The role requires knowledge of hospital buildings, research, automation and fire alarm systems, and coordination of outages for MUSC Enterprise, MUHA and university facilities. Essential personnel in disaster situations; requires high school degree and 3 years of electrical maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent.
• 3 years general or industrial electrical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Electrical Supervisor to ensure the orderly operation of the MUSC Enterprise, University and MUHA Electrical Shop during day-to-day activities; ensure 24/7 coverage.
• Assist, facilitate and monitor all utility outages and contract work; monitor safety and code compliance; utilize electrical plans to manage outages and repairs.
• Responsible for First Call Status in after-hours electrical emergencies; assess and respond promptly with the Supervisor.
• Ability to create electrical cost estimates and perform limited project management.
• Maintain professional growth through seminars/workshops and stay current with field trends.
• Keep the shop and electrical rooms orderly and safe; operate necessary tools and equipment.
