Job summary
XPO in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for the 2nd shift (3:00PM-11:30PM). You will inspect, diagnose, and repair class 6–8 diesel equipment and trailers, with a $33.95–$37.59 hourly pay range and a $1 shift premium. Benefits include health insurance from day one, tool allowance, and PTO.
Required experience and certifications include EPA HVAC recovery, a valid license, and welding skills, with opportunities for ASE/advanced training.
Qualifications
- 2 years of tractor/trailer maintenance experience or a technical school with heavy-duty certification.
- EPA HVAC refrigerant recovery certification within 90 days of hire.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Basic welding skills and heavy-duty tools for maintenance.
- Familiar with DOT/OSHA rules and safe shop practices.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on class 6–8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair systems, inspect equipment and perform necessary fixes.
- Move trailers on site and document labor and parts on repair orders.
- Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Interact with operations and shop management during the day.
