Summary of Position:

Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and body systems on heavy and light-duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel, and CNG systems. May include welding and fabrication.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs to ensure safe and efficient operations, including DVIR and repair orders.
2. Communicate with managers/drivers about vehicle issues and preventive techniques.
3. Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
4. Follow safety policies and maintain a clean work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
5. Use vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate repairs.
6. Conduct safety checks and repairs using Factory Service Manuals.
7. Maintain high standards of ethics and dependability.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of suspension, brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems diagnosis and repair.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and interpreting service manuals.
• Ability to estimate repair times and materials.
• Assist and guide assistant technicians and shop helpers.
• CDL Class B preferred within 12 months, but not required.

Other Responsibilities:

Attend training, stay current with technology, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Must be able to lift heavy weights, work in extreme temperatures, and perform physical tasks repeatedly. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities. Work involves exposure to chemicals and waste, and requires wearing PPE. The environment includes indoor and outdoor settings.
