Job summary

W.W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on automated material handling systems at the Fountain Inn Distribution Center.

You will report to a Facilities Supervisor and work a 4x10 schedule onsite. Responsibilities include troubleshooting conveyors, PLCs, and related controls; repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components; and adhering to safety standards including LOTO and NEC codes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of building and equipment maintenance with two years maintaining Dematic or similar conveyors.
• 2+ years of experience with AC drives (setup, programming, faults).
• Familiarity with Microsoft and CMMS programs.
• Experience with power distribution, power generation, control circuits, electrical test equipment, hand tools, power tools, calipers, and gauges.
• Experience reading and interpreting Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEO) drawings and schematics.
• Can frequently lift, push, and slide packages typically weighing 50-75 lbs.
• Successful completion of Maintenance skill evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to system issues involving conveyors, PIE, sortation and controls (EMS, WCS, Sort Director, EWM, Hardware, and Software).
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control system components of conveyors and building systems.
• Be a subject matter expert for conveyors, cross belt, Dematic Multi Shuttle System, Goods to Person System.
• Operate all material handling and mobile equipment within the Distribution Center.
• Work at heights and in unusual positions.
• Be available for 24-hour on-call rotation.
• Follow safety practices including LOTO, NEC, BOCA, UBC, MSDS, and OSHA codes.
• Design, implement, and document PLC changes when authorized.

Compensation

This position is hourly. The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $27.46 and $36.64

Maintenance Technicians complete preventive maintenance tasks and routine repairs on automated material handling system components to support the goals of the Distribution Center. You will report to a Facilities Supervisor.

Shift:

Monday to Thursday (4x10 schedule) - 1:30pm to midnight.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Respond to system issues involving conveyors, PIE,sortationand controls (EMS, WCS, Sort Director, EWM, Hardware, and Software)
• Basic troubleshooting/diagnostic and repairofmechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and control system components of the conveyor system and building components, including PLCs, DC drivers, AC invertors,linear motors, VFDs,encoders,scanners,powerdistribution, communication systems,computer-controlledbuilding systems, conveyor systems and maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Be a subject matter expert for conveyors, cross belt system, Dematic Multi Shuttle System/Goods to Person System
• Operate all material handling and mobile equipment within the Distribution Center
• Work at heights and in unusual positions
• Must be available for 24-hour on-callrotation
• Knowledge and application of safe work practices,lockout/tagout (LOTO)standards and Arc Flash
• Followcodes,such as the NEC,BOCAand UBC, MSDS and OSHA
• Design, implement, and document PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley) programming changes to automated equipment whenauthorized
• Troubleshoot, and implement changes to I/O device networks such as Probus, Data Highway, andCanBus
