Job summary

Cologix is seeking a Data Center Technician for the 2nd shift (Wed–Sat, 2pm–12am) to maintain and install telecommunications equipment in our datacenters. The role involves cabinet and cross-connect installations, performing remote hands requests, and coordinating with vendors for critical infrastructure maintenance.

The position requires hands-on experience with copper and fiber media, network hardware, and cabling standards.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of copper and fiber media types (UTP, Cat5e-6, MMF/SMF).
• Experience with cable testing systems and network hardware.
• Familiarity with data center cabling standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install cabinets, equipment, and cross-connects.
• Perform remote hands requests and vendor maintenance coordination.
• Install and test telecom infrastructure components (ladder rack, MDF/IDF, switches, routers).
• Lead troubleshooting and repairs during events or equipment failure.
• Monitor security, environmental, and equipment systems; maintain related reports.
• Maintain site documentation for cross-connects and power circuits.
