Job summary

D-J Engineering, Inc. in Augusta, KS, is seeking a Carpenter to fabricate shipping crates and pallets for aerospace parts. You will work in our new wood shop, using table saws, miter saws, circular saws, pneumatic staplers, and hand tools.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, lifting up to 50 lbs, performing routine equipment maintenance, and completing other shop duties. Flexibility to work weekends and a strong work ethic are essential in our fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Fabricate crates and pallets for aerospace shipments.
• Operate wood shop equipment including table saws, miter saws, and circular saws.
• Read and interpret blueprints to meet specifications.
• Lift and move lumber up to 50 lbs.
• Perform periodic maintenance of wood shop equipment.
• Complete other duties around the shop as needed.

DJ Engineering has recently developed a wood shop to support our shipping departments. The Carpenter will be responsible for fabricating mainly shipping crates and pallets to ship aerospace parts and tools.

Responsibilities:

• Using equipment such as table saws, miter saws, circular saws, pneumatic staplers/nailers, hand tools, tape measures, etc.
• Fabricating crates ranging from hand held size to large shipping container size.
• Reading blue prints to meet customer requirements.
• Lifting and moving lumber up to 50 lbs.
• Periodic maintenance of the wood shop equipment.
• Complete other duties around the shop as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends when needed.
• Candidate must show strong work ethic a dedication to quality.
• Candidates must possess a High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work in a very fast paced environment.

Other Qualifications:

Preference shown to candidates who have experience in and/or working knowledge of:

• Carpentry or general wood working
• The aerospace industry.

Schedule: 4pm-2:30am Sunday – Thursday
