Qualifications

• 2–5 years of overhead crane operation experience.
• 2–5 years forklift operation experience.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
• Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting metal working machines preferred.
• Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Basic math and measurement skills required.
• Basic computer proficiency and software literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Operates overhead crane to safely move coils throughout the facility.
• Loads and unloads coils from trucks promptly.
• Supplies and removes coils from Cut-to-Length machine to support production needs.
• Documents coils into inventory using the company's inventory system.
• Verifies coil identification, weights, and specifications before movement or processing.
• Performs routine equipment inspections to ensure the crane is in safe working condition.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area, reporting any safety concerns or discrepancies in inventory to management.
• Completes work order paperwork/documentation.
• Responsible for adhering to/ensuring compliance with applicable safety and quality standards.

This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing metals processing and distribution work. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Phoenix Metals in metals processing and distribution.

Required Skills

• 2-5 years of experience operating overhead cranes required.
• 2-5 years of forklift operating experience.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.

• Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.
