Job summary

Creighton University is seeking a 2nd Shift Commercial Maintenance Technician to join the campus facilities team in Omaha, NE. This hands-on role supports HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems across the university with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will work 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, troubleshoot and repair campus systems, and participate in on-call rotations. A driver’s license and trade training are preferred, with strong benefits and a stable university environment.

Qualifications

3+ years of commercial building maintenance experience.
Strong HVAC, electrical, and plumbing troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently.
Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by DMV for at least two years.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot HVAC systems (AHUs, fan coils, hydronic & chill water).
Electrical repairs (lighting, ballasts, motors, controls).
Plumbing repairs (fixtures, drains, steam/condensate systems).
Maintain pumps, motors, exhaust fans, and generators.
Perform preventative maintenance campus-wide.
Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training; apply learnings daily.
