Job summary

Micro Precision Group is seeking a CNC Machinist II for the 2nd shift in Windham, CT. The role includes setting up, programming, and operating CNC mills and lathes to support national defense manufacturing.

You will document production, follow QA procedures, and report status to the Manufacturing Manager. Candidate must be U.S. citizen with CNC tool experience and be able to work in a team-oriented shop environment.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required per DoD requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Formal training or relevant experience operating CNC machine tools.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently and in groups to identify and resolve issues.
• Programming and Operating Mazak control mills and lathes.
• Experience with Fryer lathes.

Responsibilities

• Assist fellow machinist with set ups and programming.
• Setup and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools.
• Program CNC mills and lathes for various operations
• Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Document actions in production and quality logs
• Report nightly production status to the Manufacturing manager
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Suggest tooling or strategy that will improve productivity.
• Other duties as responsibilities necessitate.
