Job Overview

Responsible for the setup and operation of all CNC lathes to ensure the production of quality parts for customers. CNC operators should possess skills and qualifications related to computers, machinery, and product creation.

A Day In The Life

• Prepare and program CNC machines using setup sheets.
• Create, run, edit, and improve existing programs.
• Set up machines and run initial programs.
• Procure tooling necessary for jobs.
• Calculate speeds and feeds based on the material.
• Design and machine custom tooling and fixtures.
• Perform first article inspections.
• Validate machine programs and work instructions before machining.
• Document actions by completing work order routings.
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment to meet production goals.
• Report problems to management.
• Meet established production targets.
• Maintain safe operations by following safety policies and procedures.
• Have functional knowledge of FANUC and Mazak controlled CNC machines.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the company.
