Job summary

TriMas Company LLC in El Cajon, CA is seeking a CNC/Laser Operator II for the 2nd shift to manufacture aerospace parts using CNC lathes, mills, and 5-axis laser equipment.

The role requires setup, operation, and program editing with attention to high quality and close tolerances; on-site work four days a week (4PM–2:30AM). ITAR compliance applies; U.S. person status is required for applicants.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining and/or 5-axis laser experience.
• Strong background in CNC lathe/mill setup, operation, and program editing.
• Experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC laser machines.
• Proficiency reading blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Read and interpret tolerances in metric and inch formats.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and 5-axis CNC laser machines.
• Configure fixtures, vises, and rotary tables for accurate machining and cutting operations.
• Machine parts to tolerances based on engineering drawings.
• Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, height gauges and indicators.
• Troubleshoot machining and laser cutting issues and notify management.
