Job description

Job Title: 2nd Shift - CNC Grind Operator

Join Helios Technologies, Inc. as a CNC Grind Operator (2nd Shift).

Job Summary

This role involves operating various CNC (Computer Numerical Control) grinding machines to remove material from the OD (outer diameter) and ID (inner diameter) to specified dimensions, finish, roundness, and straightness as per the part print/control plan.

Responsibilities
  • Check equipment at the start of each shift to ensure proper operation.
  • Verify machine setup, equipment, and gauges according to work order/part number, following process steps.
  • Perform setup and calibration of equipment and accessories for production parts as needed.
  • Operate machines to produce parts that meet specifications, using metrology tools such as roundness checkers, surface analyzers, air gauges, and indicating probes.
  • Maintain high quality of production parts and strive to improve individual output.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols.
Skills and Abilities
  • Attention to detail when working with small components.
  • Moderate math skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Capability to operate various finishing equipment to meet production demands.
  • Understanding mechanical concepts and performing minor repairs with hand tools.
  • Problem-solving skills when equipment malfunctions.
Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Experience with measuring equipment is beneficial.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged standing or sitting at a workstation.
