Job summary

GPM Investments is hiring a Cashier/Sales Associate for the midday/2nd shift at our Wickes, AR location. The role runs typically from 2 PM to Midnight, handling greetings, register operations, and ensuring a clean, safe store environment.

This part-time position starts at $11.00 per hour and offers weekly pay, with opportunities for advancement. Prior retail experience is a plus, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Age requirements vary by state: 18+ in CT, FL, LA, MI, MA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TX, TN, AZ, CO; 21+ in all other states.
• Availability: weekends and holidays; 2nd shift (2 PM–Midnight).
• Willingness: able to stand long hours, indoors and outdoors in all weather.
• Communication: read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Math: basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Physical: lift 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Pre-employment screening: drug test and background check.
• Personable and positive demeanor; make customers feel welcome.
• Detail-oriented; notice small things affecting customer experience.
• Reliable and responsible during midday and early evening hours.
• Flexible and able to handle various tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in retail or customer service is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile and run the register with accuracy and speed.
• Become an expert in lottery, cigarette, and alcohol sales with required age verification and compliance.
• Offer friendly service and upsell when possible to increase sales.
• Keep the store clean and safe, including restrooms and exterior areas.
• Stock shelves, coolers, and displays to maintain attractive merchandise.
• Maintain a clean and organized store; sweep, mop, windows, entryways.
• Cross-train in other departments, including deli, as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Be a team player and help wherever needed.
