Job summary

Clayton is seeking a Team Lead for the 2nd shift in the cabinet production area. You will oversee daily operations in the frame build and edge band department, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with quality and safety standards.

You will supervise materials, schedules, and team performance, train staff, and address production issues. Strong leadership, industry knowledge, and attention to detail are required for continuous improvement and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or cabinet production.
• Strong understanding of cabinet construction processes, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to mentor and motivate a team.
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret production documents, blueprints, and measurements.
• Basic knowledge of equipment troubleshooting and maintenance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations in the frame build and edge band department.
• Verify all materials are cut to proper specifications prior to production.
• Ensure all materials, tools, and supplies are properly stocked and organized.
• Monitor and enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure all products meet company quality standards and specifications.
• Oversee proper packaging of cabinet components to prevent damage.
• Monitor production schedules to ensure build dates and deadlines are met.
• Verify dimensions of parts and finished products to maintain accuracy.
• Train, coach, and verify competency of team members in assigned tasks.
• Identify and report damages, defects, or material discrepancies to the Area Coordinator.
• Identify equipment malfunctions and communicate promptly with maintenance.
• Ensure edge band operators are supplied with materials to maintain workflow.
• Provide hands-on support to team members as needed to achieve production goals.
