Summary Of Position

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Brake Press Setup/Operator sets-up and operates brake presses and punch presses to form and bend a variety of materials. Responsible for part quality and efficiency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Set-up, adjust, and operate brake press and punch press to form, bend, and punch a variety of work
  • Set-up dies and gauges, adjust ram stroke to form materials to proper angle and radii
  • Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates
  • Use scale, protractor, fixed angle, and radii gauges
  • Sort and package parts
  • Verify quantity & quality of material
  • Move raw material to and from production areas as necessary
  • Operate overhead crane while moving product
  • Adhere to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct
  • Other duties as assigned or required
Qualifications

  • Good math skills; Basic reading & writing skills
  • Regular attendance, punctuality, and dependability
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls
  • Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
  • Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work overtime when required
Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel; frequently talk or hear; and may occasionally sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
