Job summary

RBC Bearings in Connecticut is seeking an on-site inspection and assembly technician responsible for inspecting, assembling, and packaging ball bearing rod ends and needle roller bearings. The role requires reading complex drawings and using precision measuring tools to verify fits.

You will set up presses and gauges, mark and bag bearings, maintain inspection records, and ensure a safe, clean work environment while supporting grind and inspection areas as needed.

Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor, this individual must be able to inspect, assemble, and package any of the ball bearing rod ends and needle roller bearings. This individual must be able to read complex drawings and perform inspection operations as required using measuring instruments such as micrometers, verniers, dial indicators, and direct reading instruments such as air gages, snap gages, and radial and axial clearance gages. This person must be able to perform measurement on any inspection equipment in order to support the grind and inspection areas. This employee must be able to perform all of the assembly operations which include washing components, sizing and matching inner race diameters to rod end diameters in order to achieve the desired radial and axial play, loading balls and rollers, installing shields and end washers, and greasing the bearings. Marking the bearings, bagging the bearings, and sealing the bag is also the responsibility of this person. All setups of any presses or gaging involved in the inspection or assembly of these products is the responsibility of this individual.

Other responsibilities include maintaining accurate inspection records, requisitioning any tools or materials as required through the supervisor, maintaining a safe and clean department, moving work as required, performing unusual or experimental work and performing any other reasonable duties assigned by the Supervisor.
