Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences is seeking an Associate Sewer to support sewing assembly of cardiac valves in our California facility. You will follow established procedures, use fine tools, and perform step-by-step verifications to ensure quality and traceability in device history records. You should have basic computer skills, good hand-eye coordination, and the ability to read, write and speak English.

H.S. Diploma or equivalent preferred; prior GMP/clean room experience is a plus, and you will work in

  • Use tools – needles, scissors, forceps, specialized tooling, microscope – to perform assigned steps, in rotation, in the sewing assembly of valves.
  • Perform verifications, against specifications, of completed steps, and successive checks on steps completed by work team colleagues.
  • Review, follow and perform job functions in compliance with established work instructions and adherence with SOPs, including recording traceable information on device history records.
  • Other incidental duties: General work area housekeeping.

The Associate Sewer performs sewing work to support manufacturing/production activities, following established procedures and guidance.

How you'll make an impact:

What you'll need:

What else we look for:
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous sewing, GMP, clean room, medical device experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturing.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision by following detailed manufacturing instructions.
  • Successful completion of ongoing job training of assembly process steps.
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families. For California, the base pay range for this position is $40,000 - $55,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
