2nd Shift Assistant Machine Operator (Slitter)

Hours: 3pm to 11pm, Monday through Friday

Pay: $19.50/hour with $0.25 shift differential

About this opportunity:

The Slitter Operator (2nd Shift) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of slitting equipment to cut and slice printed/laminated film to customer specifications, ensuring quality and removing defects. The role requires understanding of machine operation, quality factors, waste reduction, and productivity. The operator should be capable of handling complex jobs, operating multiple types of slitting equipment, and training entry-level operators.

What you will do:

• Support a safe work environment by following all safety regulations and participating in safety initiatives.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Review work orders and perform job setup, including loading materials, adjusting blades, tensions, and speeds.
• Inspect products during production for defects, perform splices, and remove non-conforming material.
• Record waste and productivity metrics.
• Ensure production efficiency targets are met.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and preventive tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

What you have to offer:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Entry-Level: 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferably in flexible packaging.
• Experienced: 2+ years of experience with slitting machines, understanding of quality, waste, and productivity factors, preferably in flexible packaging.
• Knowledge of materials, structures, and common defects in production.

Compensation:

The salary for this role is anticipated to be $19.50 per hour. Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Benefits are applicable to candidates hired on local US payroll.
