Qualifications

• College degree in business administration, commerce, management, industrial technology, or industrial engineering are strongly preferred.
• 3+ years in management, preferably in high-volume material handling.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations preferred.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to apply it to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating internal Crossdock operations.

Job Description: Assistant Crossdock Manager

Location: 13520 Mercury Drive, Laredo, TX

Department: Crossdock Job Status: Full-Time Reports to: Dock Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating internal Crossdock operations. Responsible for ensuring and improving the safety performance, productivity and efficiency of departments and organizational operations through utilizing KPIs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain safety and address concerns immediately.
• Must ensure that all safety procedures and practices are implemented and followed.
• Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization.
• Ensure that the customer's standards are being met.
• Complete and present KPIs
• Manage implementation and follow up of countermeasure activities related to customers and/or department issues.
• Facilitate good communications with Managers, team leaders and team members for establishing expectations and problem resolutions.
• Effectively plan and manage manpower requirements to ensure efficient operations.
• Must be able to successfully lead and function within a team environment and be able to identify and promote changes for improvement activities.
• Effectively resolve conflicts in a courteous and professional manner.
• Manage 5s program maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
• Maintain flexibility with operational hours and needs.
• Other duties as required.

EDUCATION:

College degree in business administration, commerce, management, industrial technology, or industrial engineering are strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have prior experience in high volume material handling, preferably in the automotive industry. Three (3) plus years in management strongly preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to understand material handling, equipment safety and crossdock operations. Must possess a strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to apply problem solving strategies to improve processes. Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job will focus upon the direction of work activities and will be responsible for direct management / supervisory duties affecting the team. Must help ensure all customers and Carter Express defined safety, processes and schedules are followed by all team members.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have working knowledge of PC applications and cognitive ability to learn customer software application(s). Proficient skills in Excel are required. Will be required to attend training and conduct training, as necessary.
