Job summary

Relativity Space is seeking an Asset Maintenance Technician II for the second shift in Long Beach, CA to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of advanced manufacturing equipment including CNC machines and EDM systems. This role blends hands-on maintenance with mentoring duties and requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.

You will support shift execution, coordinate workflow, and drive continuous improvement while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within advanced manufacturing or aerospace.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting capability, including PLCs, motors, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine control systems.
• Experience supporting, maintaining, or repairing CNC machines, automation systems, or other complex manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to work independently while also helping coordinate and support the work of others during shift execution.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly share priorities, elevate issues, and support cross-functional alignment with production and maintenance leadership.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and manufacturing maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain CNC machines and related equipment.
• Use schematics and docs to fix electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
• Coordinate technician workflow and prioritize tasks to align with production needs.
• Mentor shift-level technicians and serve as first point of contact.
• Raise blockers and safety concerns to leadership.
• Collaborate with production to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Assist installation, commissioning, and maintenance of new equipment.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion.
• Track maintenance activity using CMMS and report recurring issues.
• Identify process improvements for uptime and reliability.
• Provide coaching and day-to-day guidance to improve execution.
• Support KPIs related to uptime, response time, and safety.
