Job summary

Veritas Steel LLC in Palatka, FL is hiring General Laborers to support grinding, drilling, and shop cleanup at our Palatka location. You will work weekend and night shifts with overtime rules and must follow safety policies to maintain a safe, productive environment.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, be able to read English, stand and lift to 40 pounds, and be able to work in a fast-paced warehouse setting. Welding experience is a plus.

• Weekend Shift is a 36-Hour Work Week Paid for 40 Hours
• Weekend Shift is a 36-Hour Work Week Paid for 40 Hours

• Night Shift is a 53-hour week

Friday through Sunday, 5AM- 5PM

Monday- Thursday 5PM to 5AM, Friday 5PM -Midnight

Double Time After 50 hrs. Worked!

General laborers employed at Veritas Steel's Palatka location are responsible for grinding, drilling, shop clean-up, and miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Shop Supervisor. They can meet high production demands promptly and complete high-quality work with expertise. General laborers must also adhere to company policies to ensure a safe working environment.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

• Uses proper safety equipment to ensure surfaces are adequately prepared for all operations
• Maintain shop, equipment, tools, vehicles, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items and ensuring safety
• Coordinate with shop supervisor and other personnel for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently, on time, and with no defects
• Assist others as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
• Adhere to safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and surrounding coworkers
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• High School diploma or GED
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
• Need to be able to read metric tapes
• Able to adapt to work priorities, communicate well, meet deadlines and schedules, and work as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 40 pounds and carry 30 pounds
• Must be able to push /move objects up to 50 lbs. of force
• Pulling requirements up to 122 lbs. of force
• Necessary to stand, walk, stoop, and kneel
• Must have a good range of motion when reaching forward, shoulder to overhead, and bending
• Agile fingers and thumbs on both hands

Working Conditions

• Work is performed indoors in a large warehouse or outside in all weather conditions
• There is regular exposure to dirt, dust, paint fumes, noise, moving equipment, heavy steel & other possible hazardous conditions
• Safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots are required; a respirator is required for specific operations
