King Machine is a global leader in tire mold manufacturing, where precision, complexity, and innovation converge. We’re pushing the boundaries of digital manufacturing and automation to produce mission-critical components that support some of the largest tire manufacturers in the world.

The Aluminum Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welder is responsible for welding aluminum components, ensuring high-quality and precision welding for tire mold production. Please note that this position will start out on 1st shift (7am-3:30pm) for up 3 weeks then will change over to 2nd Shift (3:30pm - 12:00am.) Must be able to work overtime.

Essential Functions

  • Perform TIG welding on aluminum parts used in tire mold production.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
  • Ensure all welds meet quality standards, with a focus on precision and smooth finishes.
  • Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and fitting components before welding.
  • Inspect finished welds for defects, cracks, and inconsistencies, making necessary adjustments.
  • Work with fabrication teams, machinists, and engineers to meet production requirements.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements:

  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Proven experience as an Aluminum TIG Welder, preferably in tire mold or precision metal fabrication.
  • Strong understanding of TIG welding techniques, settings, and equipment.
  • Ability to work with thin-gauge aluminum and maintain precise weld beads.
  • Familiarity with heat control techniques to avoid warping or material damage.
  • Knowledge of welding codes and standards relevant to aluminum welding.
  • Ability to operate grinders, saws, and other metalworking tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Welding certification (AWS or equivalent) is a plus.
