2nd Press Operator - 3rd Shift

Job description

The Second Press Operator is responsible for the timely and cost-effective production of quality printed materials by acting as a feeder operator, in conjunction with a team leader, on any of the printing presses. Must be hard working and willing to learn. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and regularly move/lift up to 50 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform assigned activity to produce a completed job, ensuring the completion of the job with respect to company quality and quantity standards.
2. Assist Press Operator in set-up of machines.
3. Obtain supplies needed for setups and correct material allocated to the present job.
4. Determine material needs, fill out material request form and work with shipping department for staging.
5. Review specs such as job order, print master, proofs, and samples.
6. Participate in cleaning and maintenance work on machines.
7. Load paper stock and maintain feeder operations.
8. Periodically add ink to ink reservoir to maintain a specified level.
9. Complete and maintain all required paperwork.
10. Follow and comply with all safety rules, work rules, and regulations.
11. Maintain good housekeeping in assigned work area and throughout the department.
12. Must be willing to take direction from pressman in a team environment.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Experience and Education:

1. Dependable and exceptional work ethic.
2. Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
3. Previous experience in printing a plus!
4. High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
