Primary Responsibilities

Safely set up and operate the machine to produce quality products at the desired target speed for each run.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Capable of performing all duties of the First Press Operator, with full training on the PF-47 or Flexo machine.
• Responsible for press setup, including ink, charging the system, and doctor blades to prevent leaks.
• Assist with installing plate cylinders and adjusting anilox rolls.
• Support the press feeder during re-wind or unwind processes.
• Monitor and adjust ink pH and viscosity during operation.
• Operate the re-wind to prepare rolls for warehouse and the next production cycle.
• Must be certified to operate the clamp truck.
• Assist with daily maintenance and cleaning routines.
• Maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with customers during press checks.
• Troubleshoot and assist in repairing machine malfunctions.
• Communicate effectively with team members.
• Wear appropriate PPE and follow safety policies.
• Support process improvements and adapt to new procedures.
• Keep work environment clean and safe, following Food Safety and 5S standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including cross-departmental tasks as needed.

Authority

The Operator should be able to lead a crew in the absence of the First Press Operator and respond to instructions from supervisors.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED preferred; 1-3 months related experience or training; mechanical skills and basic computer skills required.

Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly for effective communication.
