Job summary

Forma-Fab Metals in Mebane, NC is seeking a shop associate to support the paint shop operations. The role focuses on keeping the workspace clean, safe, and efficient while assisting with powder coating prep and post-processing.

You will move metal parts with a pallet jack, prep items before coating, ensure proper cleaning, and collaborate with teammates to maximize productivity. Overtime may be required, and a high school diploma or GED is expected.

Responsibilities

• Move pallets of metal parts near the work area using a pallet jack.
• Hang and prep material parts before powder coating.
• Ensure items are prepped and cleaned before coating.
• Unhang items after coating and drying.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Maintain high attention to detail for each task.
• Collaborate with team to maximize productivity and safety.
• Follow safety procedures and regulations.
• Assist in other areas as needed.

Job description

HOURS > Monday-Thursday 4:30pm - 2:00am, plus overtime as needed!

Performing various tasks to aid daily operations at the paint shop. The duties and responsibilities of this position are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient work space while also supporting the overall function of the paint shop.

Essential Functions:

• Use pallet jack to move pallets of metal parts close to work area
• Hang and plug material parts prior to the powder coating process
• Ensure that items are prepped and cleaned correctly prior to the coating process
• Unplug material pieces after materials have been painted and dried
• Keep area clean and organized
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Assist in other areas as needed

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Background working with sheet metal (preferred)
• Follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way
• Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if needed

Environmental Conditions:

• Humidity level may be elevated during summer months
• Exposure to loud noise, at times

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
• Able to stand on your feet for at least ten hours a shift
