Job summary

Qualifications

• State Certificate to teach in Elementary.
• Bachelor's from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline.
• Master's Degree in related area preferred.
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers school elementary curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
• Promotes a classroom environment safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and translates plans into learning experiences for instruction.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instruction to fit individual needs.
• Instructs students in responsible citizenship and other subject matters per laws and district procedures.
• Pursues professional knowledge through seminars, workshops, or research.
• Maintains accurate records of student activities, achievement, and attendance.
• Encourages parental involvement and communicates with students and parents.
• Ensures student conduct aligns with school standards and policies; supports positive behavior.
• Collaborates with grade-level staff to evaluate and enhance curriculum.
• Selects and requisitions books, supplies, and equipment; maintains inventory.
• Supervises students during activities outside classroom time, including transportation.
• Administers standardized tests per district programs.
