Job summary

SUNSET HILL ELEMENTARY in Lawrence, Kansas seeks a TEACHER ELEMENTARY (SECOND GRADE) to provide instruction for 1.0 FTE, 8.0 hours per day, 188 days per year (new teachers) or 186 days (returning teachers). The role requires Kansas teaching certificate/licensure and a strong commitment to standards-based instruction in a district school setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold Kansas teaching certificate/licensure.
• KSDE 'Highly qualified' status required.
• SPED and/or ESL endorsement preferred.
• Other qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Builds instruction upon previously learned materials.
• Uses a variety of teaching materials and techniques appropriate for the content area.
• Provides for regular assessment of student needs and progress.
• Provides for appropriate re-teaching, adaptation, and/or extensions as needed.
