Job summary

Waldorf Astoria Orlando is seeking a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join the Agronomy Team on the resort's Hilton-managed property. You will help manage daily course operations to deliver exceptional guest experiences on a Forbes 4-Star property.

As part of the agronomy team, you’ll oversee maintenance, irrigation performance, turf health, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations while supporting budget planning and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily golf course maintenance and irrigation systems
• Supervise minor construction projects and equipment maintenance
• Optimize turf health by diagnosing pests, weeds and diseases
• Assist with budgeting and annual maintenance planning
• Maintain records of maintenance, pesticide use, weather data, and safety compliance
• Act as Superintendent delegate in the absence of the Superintendent
• Recruit and develop a high-performing golf course maintenance team

As a 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, and overall management of the hotel’s golf course – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Responsibilities

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

• Oversee daily course maintenance: Assist in managing golf course and practice area upkeep, including irrigation systems, maintenance facilities, restrooms, natural landscapes, and other designated property areas
• Supervise projects and inspections: Oversee minor construction projects, facility inspections, and equipment maintenance to ensure high-quality course conditions
• Optimize turf health: Track irrigation performance, diagnose turf issues related to pests, weeds, and diseases, and recommend corrective actions
• Assist with budgeting and planning: Contribute to annual maintenance and capital improvement budgeting, helping to prioritize needs and allocate resources efficiently
• Maintain accurate records: Keep detailed documentation of maintenance activities, inventory, pesticide use, weather data, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations
• Act as the Superintendent delegate: Serve as the department leader in the Superintendent’s absence, ensuring continuity of operations and standards
• Cultivate a high-performing team: Recruit new talent while driving team growth through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs
