Job summary

Wild Dunes Resort, Destination by Hyatt, seeks an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to direct and participate in golf course maintenance and supervise greens staff while upholding AAA Four Diamond standards.

You will train personnel, coordinate irrigation and drainage projects, manage chemical and fertilizer applications, and ensure grooming and uniform standards, while exemplifying the resort culture and service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Experience in golf course maintenance required.
• Degree in Turf Management preferred.
• Management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Day to day management and supervision of greens keeping staff.
• Fulfill the range of duties of an equipment operator/greens keeper.
• Train staff.
• Irrigation design, installation and repair.
• Drainage design, installation and repair.
• Manage irrigation responsibilities.
• Manage the use of chemicals and fertilizers.
• Apply and supervise application of chemicals and fertilizer.
• Assist in personnel management and evaluation, to include safety training; personnel discipline; assign duties; motivate staff.
• Maintain grooming and uniform appearance.
• Act as a role model for Wild Dunes Colleagues.
• Coordinate staff meetings.

SUMMARY:

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is to direct and participate in the maintenance of the golf course. Supervises the staff and performs related work. The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards.

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Essential job FUNCTIONS:

• Maintain an acceptable grooming and uniform appearance
• Consistently acting as a role model for all Wild Dunes Colleagues
• Assist Golf Course Superintendent in coordinating staff meetings

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & eDUCATION:

• High school education or equivalent required
• Experience in golf course maintenance required
• Degree in Turf Management preferred
• Management/supervisory experience preferred

Job REQUIRMENTS:

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must have a valid driver license and meet company driving standards
• Must have a strong technical gasoline and diesel engine background
• Excellent equipment operation skills
• Must have required tools of the trade
• Must have excellent mechanical understanding and ability

Working CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to stand & walk throughout the day, occasionally on uneven surfaces
• Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs and very occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance
• Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel & twist on an frequent basis, sometimes for prolonged periods
• Must be able to perform simple grasping, squeezing, fine manipulation and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; overhead reaching occasionally.
