Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Technical School preferred.
• Read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and drawings.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment including furnaces, heaters, hoists and pumps.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills; able to work independently.
• English communication required; bilingual English/Spanish preferred for Illinois locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining and improving plant equipment, facilities, and grounds.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Install and bend EMT and rigid conduit up to 2 inches; perform electrical installations and repairs.
• Install, replace, and repair motor controls, contactors, overloads, relays, limit switches, and other components.
• Troubleshoot controller programming and industrial control systems; complete maintenance documentation.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Coordinate with outside contractors to complete projects safely and on schedule.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and stay current with maintenance techs and best practices.
