Job summary

InterImage in Fort Meade, MD is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineer to drive Agile development, design system architectures, and lead integration efforts in a DoD context.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain Confluence documentation, and ensure alignment with customer and technical objectives while leveraging DevSecOps tooling for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, or equivalent years of experience.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• 8–10 years of experience in systems engineering or related role.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tooling.
• Scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash or similar).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; experience with Java, Spring MVC, jQuery, ThymeLeaf, AJAX, Bootstrap, CSS.

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Development: Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as iteration planning, iteration demos, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to contribute to team goals and objectives.
• Documentation: Maintain up-to-date system documentation in confluence, including interface definitions, system diagrams, and mission use cases
• Collaboration: Work closely with the government product manager and software developers to ensure system designs align with customer and technical objectives.
• Other Responsibilities:
• System Design: Develop and document system architecture, components, and interfaces to meet project requirements.
• System Interfaces: Become an expert in the system's interfaces and identify key integration points
• Integration & Testing: Support the integration system services with external systems
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving system efficiency and scalability through innovative approaches and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, or equivalent years of experience.
