Job description

SALARY: 50835.00 USD - 56160.00 USD
SCHEDULE: MONDAY - FRIDAY, 3:30 PM TO 3:00 AM & SATURDAY, 1:00 PM TO 9:00 PM AS NEEDED. OT IS EXPECTED ON A WEEKLY BASIS.
NIGHT SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL: $2.00 / HOUR

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Lathe.
  2. Validate machine programs and work instructions before machining to ensure the accuracy of operations.
  3. Set up and operate CNC Lathe for first article to prove out program and set up instructions.
  4. Process remaining parts while conducting constant checks and inspections to ensure the entire part run meets dimensional and surface finish requirements.
  5. Read and interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and work order routings.
  6. Document actions by completing work order routings.
  7. Maintain safe operations by adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
  8. Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  9. Keep machines and work area clean and organized.
  10. Work as a team player with others in a demanding, fast-paced environment to meet frequently changing production.
  11. Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Three + years of machinist experience with Horizontal CNC Lathes.
  3. Experience operating small and large CNC lathes with Fanuc Controls (i.e., Mori Seiki, Puma, etc.).
  4. Able to read G & M code.
  5. Basic math skills to interpret drawings.
  6. Basic computer skills for time entry and document lookup.
  7. Understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and how it applies to part inspection.
  8. Strong attention to detail.
  9. Knowledge and experience in using machine tools (cutting tools), work holding equipment/fixtures, and needed accessories to operate and maintain CNC machines.
  10. Proficient in using various measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial bore gages, ring groove gages, etc.
  11. MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO WORK 2nd shift (with shift differential pay), overtime, and weekends as needed.
