Warrensburg R-VI School District seeks a High School Social Studies teacher for Warrensburg High School to deliver engaging instruction and manage a positive classroom environment. The teacher will uphold district standards and collaborate with staff to support student learning.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree, Missouri teaching certificate in the assignment area, and, if applicable, successful completion of the Missouri Teacher Competency Exam.
To Whom Responsible: Building Administrators
For Whom/What Responsible: The daily instruction of students.
Qualifications: Degree: Minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (exceptions related to certification).
Certificate: Missouri teaching certificate in area of assignment.
Experience: Successful completion of Missouri Teacher Competency Exam, if applicable; other experience commensurate with assignment.
Primary Responsibilities To provide a quality instructional program for students; to complete teaching duties necessary to the district's educational program.

PROGRAM OPERATION
The teacher causes students to actively participate and be successful in the learning process.
The teacher uses various forms of assessment to monitor and manage student learning.
The teacher is prepared and knowledgeable of the content and effectively maintains students' on-task behavior.
The teacher communicates and interacts in a professional manner with the school community.
The teacher keeps current on instructional knowledge and seeks and explores changes in teacher behaviors that will improve student performance.
The teacher acts as a responsible professional in addressing the overall mission of the school district.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
A standard teaching contract is 178 days; extended or part time contracts are prorated. Compensation is according to the teacher salary schedule as established annually by the Board of Education. All other employee benefits are according to the total FTE of employment for the individual.
EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated according to board policies and the Warrensburg R-VI School District adopted model of Performance Based Teacher Evaluation.
