Job description

SALARY: 52187.20 USD - 58801.60 USD
WORKING HOURS: 4 PM - 4 AM
NIGHT SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL: $2.50PH

Essential Duties:

  1. Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and machining centers to fabricate metallic parts by performing the following duties.
  2. Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  3. Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
  4. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on lathe machines, grinders, and shapers.
  5. Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and cut angle, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  6. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.
  7. Perform general machining, OD / ID turning and boring with minor thread work.
  8. Verify dimensions and conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
  9. Set up and operate the machine on a trial run to verify the accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  10. Install machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment and test the unit's operation to ensure functionality and performance.
  11. Develop specifications from a general description and sketch part of the product to be fabricated.
  12. Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
  13. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Two to four years of related experience and training.
  3. Crankshaft grinder, grinding to final requirement preferred.
  4. CNC experience preferred.

  2. Able to read and interpret written information.
