JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
PHEAA is looking for a video intern for the summer of 2026. The ideal intern has a solid portfolio of video production work that shows creative talent and is active on social media. They will develop engaging videos/reels/TikToks and use these skills to promote our marketing department's products, services, and educational message. They will generate creative ideas, participate in idea formation, editing, and content publishing, gaining hands‑on experience and building a portfolio.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the creation and development of multimedia (audio/video/animation) content for customer stories, external promotional social videos, and product marketing videos.
- Develop scripts and storyboards for video projects prior to execution.
- Ensure creative output meets PHEAA brand style guidelines.
- Work independently and as part of a team to establish project deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with internal staff to produce multimedia content.
- Record and edit video and sound projects, including capturing/importing media, organizing raw media, editing footage and sound files, creating and inserting static and motion graphics, adding music/voice‑over/sound effects, and archiving project media.
- Collaborate with designers to incorporate supporting graphics within videos.
- Upload final files to the video library.
- Stay knowledgeable of best practices in video production and digital trends.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create non‑social media videos for other agency initiatives.
- Comply with the agency’s enterprise security and privacy policies and departmental procedures.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED. Some college coursework in audio/visual, design, or related fields.
- Experience and high level of confidence with video editing software such as Capcut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or similar platforms.
- Ability to edit and use video templates from Envato.
- Knowledge of handheld cameras (cell phones, digital cameras), professional cameras in various HD and SD formats, pre‑production planning, scriptwriting, storyboarding, and photography.
- Post‑production skills: digital video editing, still and motion graphics design, and video compression for multiple delivery platforms.
- Active social media presence across multiple platforms.
- Strong communication skills, ability to write scripts, direct/instruct camera individuals, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Effective time management, organization, and prioritization.
