Job summary

First Children Services in Atlantic City, NJ is seeking a Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (BT/RBT) to provide direct behavioral support under supervision. You will implement treatment plans and support clients in developing communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills across diverse settings.

During training you may work with various clients and teams; after training you’ll have ongoing client assignments and collaborate with families and clinicians.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience with children.
  • Knowledge of ABA principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to document accurately and use relevant tech.
  • Willingness to work in multiple settings.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Preferred: 2 years in direct-care or human services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to clients within the assigned service area.
  • Follow individualized treatment plans and clinical programming.
  • Collect accurate session data and complete required documentation.
  • Support the development of communication, social, behavioral, and adaptive skills.
  • Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions as directed by the supervising clinician.
  • Work collaboratively with families, supervisors, and other team members.
  • Promote positive behavioral outcomes and consistent implementation of goals.
  • Complete assigned administrative and program-support tasks.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful environment for clients and families.
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures.

Service Workers Atlantic City, NJ, US

Salary Range: $21.00 To $26.00 Annually

Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday–Friday; schedules may vary based on program needs (generally between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.)
Location: Atlantic City & Mays Landing, NJ (The needs of our clients change from time to time.)

Work Setting: Employees may be assigned to work in a variety of settings based on organizational needs. These settings can include, but are not limited to, schools, preschools, clinics, homes, and community-based environments. Employees are expected to perform their duties in any assigned location as required.
Pay Range:$21.00–$26.00 per hour, plus bonus eligibility
Reports To: NJ State and Regional Directors

Position Overview

The Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (BT/RBT) provides direct behavioral support to clients under the supervision of a Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

The BT/RBT implements individualized treatment plans, goals, and programming developed by the clinical team. The position involves supporting clients in developing communication, social, behavioral, and daily living skills while maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment.

Employees may work in a variety of settings based on program needs, including schools, preschools, clinics, homes, and community environments.

During the initial training period, schedules may vary and employees may work with different clients, teams, and programs throughout their assigned region. Following training, employees will generally receive an ongoing client assignment.

  • Provide 1:1 and group support to clients within the assigned service area.
  • Follow individualized treatment plans and clinical programming developed by the treatment team.
  • Collect accurate session data and complete required documentation within established timelines.
  • Support the development of communication, social, behavioral, and adaptive skills.
  • Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions as directed by the supervising clinician.
  • Work collaboratively with families, supervisors, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Promote positive behavioral outcomes and consistent implementation of treatment goals.
  • Complete assigned administrative and program-support activities when direct service hours are not available.
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive environment for clients and families.
  • Follow organizational policies, procedures, and applicable standards.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience working with children.
  • Ability to work with children with a range of behavioral and support needs across different environments.
  • Working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to use technology for daily documentation and related job responsibilities.
  • Ability to receive, apply, and respond positively to feedback.
  • Ability to complete assigned administrative and program-support tasks, including preparing materials and maintaining assigned work areas.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include standing, bending, kneeling, and running during a shift.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in a direct-care or human services position.

Employees may be assigned to schools, preschools, clinics, homes, and community-based settings. Assignments may vary according to client and program needs.

The position requires the ability to work across different environments and interact professionally with clients, families, supervisors, and members of the clinical team.
