Job summary

ADVANTEDGE TECHNOLOGY, INC. seeks part-time Sound and Security personnel (unarmed) to support the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) at PHNSWC Port Hueneme, CA. Multiple shifts available (M‑F or weekends and holidays).

Role includes patrols, monitoring for security breaches, reporting to supervisors, ensuring authorized access, and documenting meter readings. Must be 18+, no criminal record, valid driver’s license, and able to read/write English.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• No criminal record; able to satisfactorily complete background check.
• Have a valid driver's license with own transportation.
• Able to write, speak and understand English and write clear reports.
• Able to climb shipboard ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform shipboard internal/perimeter foot patrol rounds taking hourly equipment meter readings.
• Perform shipboard security patrol to detect or prevent unauthorized individuals from causing harm or damage.
• Notify supervisor in all emergency situations.
• Maintain a highly visible presence observing and reporting all unusual activity; investigate questionable acts or behavior observed or reported on the ship.
• Ensure only authorized employees, shipyard vendors or other identified persons are permitted shipboard access.
• Respond to reports of injured personnel and notify supervisor/appropriate personnel if additional assistance is necessary.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Part‑Time Sound and Security personnel (unarmed) in support of the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS) located at PHNSWC (Port Hueneme) CA. Must be adaptable, flexible, willing and able to work and be dependable. Multiple shifts available (M‑F or Weekends and Holidays).

Position Duties

• Perform shipboard internal/perimeter foot patrol rounds taking hourly equipment meter readings.
• Perform shipboard security patrol to detect or prevent individuals from committing acts, which are injurious to others or to property.
• Notify supervisor in all emergency situations.
• Maintain a highly visible presence observing and reporting all unusual activity. Investigate questionable acts or behavior observed or reported on the ship.
• Insure only authorized employees, shipyard vendors or other appropriately identified persons are permitted shipboard access.
• Respond to reports of injured personnel and notify supervisor/appropriate personnel if additional assistance is necessary.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to climb up and down the shipboard vertical ladders.
• Maybe required to get underway to support mission operations.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Pay Details

The hourly pay rate is $20.32 per hour. Additionally, you receive an hourly Health and Welfare of $5.55 per hour, up to 40 hours per week or $222.00 per week or a maximum of $888.00 per month. In addition to health and Welfare you receive a Paid Time Off Payout and Holiday Payout based on the number of hours worked.
