Ashland School District 5 is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to transport students on scheduled routes and field trips. The driver will ensure safe loading/unloading, enforce safety rules, and follow district policies under supervision.
The role requires a valid Oregon CDL and first aid certification, with opportunities to serve during school events and special activities. Applicants must meet district standards.
2025-26 salary schedule (2026-27 salary schedule to be determined)*
To provide safe and efficient transportation for students to and from school and for special events. To enforce rules, regulations, and laws to maintain safety during transport, also during loading and unloading students. Work is characterized by ability to follow routes, and to make independent decisions that align project objectives with department and district goals. Performs duties with close supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; stand; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit for prolonged periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds. The employee may assist well and/or physically impaired students on and off the bus through passenger service door. The employee must demonstrate sufficient strength and agility to move about in bus to assist students with evacuation in case of emergency. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions. Employee may be exposed to blood borne pathogens.
