Job summary

Norman Public Schools is seeking a Warehouse Worker/Driver to support site operations and logistics across multiple campuses.

The role requires a valid Oklahoma driver0s license, 1-2 years warehouse experience, and the ability to operate forklift and pallet jack. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, inventory, and coordinating with UPS and other drivers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive trucks and vans to deliver merchandise to the various sites.
  • Load and unload vehicles/trucks; transport and deliver merchandise to proper locations.
  • Check in orders; inspect merchandise against PO; input data into log or computer; post quantity received.
  • Stock shelves manually or with lift equipment; complete periodic inventory.
  • Work with UPS drivers and other drivers unloading merchandise.
  • Maintain records of movement/transfer of furniture and equipment; input data into filing system.

Warehouse Worker Job Description

Job Title: Warehouse Worker/Driver
Credentials: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
Education: High school diploma or GED
Training or experience required: 1-2 years of directly related warehouse experience. Operation of forklift, pallet jack and other motorized equipment is required.
Site: Warehouse
Reports to: Warehouse Foreman
Contract: 240 Days
Salary Schedule: Maintenance 3
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Essential Job Functions
  • Drive trucks and vans to deliver merchandise to the various sites.
  • Load and unload vehicles/trucks. Transport and deliver merchandise to proper location.
  • Check in orders; inspect merchandise against purchase order; inputs information into log or computer. Place identifying information on items and posts quantity received on purchase orders.
  • Stock shelves manually or with lift machinery. Complete inventory of merchandise periodically. Retrieve merchandise.
  • Work with UPS drivers and other drivers unloading merchandise.
  • Keep necessary records relative to movement/transfer of furniture, equipment, etc. Files necessary records and may input data into computerized filing system.
  • Clean and maintain warehouse and equipment, including assigned vehicle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Employees must possess the basic communication skills to exchange information, give and receive simple instructions and respond to inquiries. Employees in his position may be required to perform routine computations requiring a knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, fractions, decimals and/or percentages. Employees may be required to read and interpret routine written or printed materials such as basic blueprints, charts, diagrams, maps or instruction material. In a workday, the employee must stand/walk 8 hours per day. Employee's job requires frequent to continuous bending/stooping; squatting/crouching; crawling/kneeling; climbing (height 12 feet); reaching above shoulder; and pushing/pulling. Employee's job requires frequent to continuous carrying/lifting of up to 75 pounds, occasional carrying/lifting of up to 100 pounds in order to fill orders, complete transfer requests, and stock shelves with equipment and furniture, supplies and parts. Job requires employee to use both feet for repetitive movements; use both hands for such repetitive actions requiring simple to firm grasping and/or fine manipulation. Employee must possess manual dexterity/visual ability to oversee all phases of the warehouse operation; read and understand orders and locate merchandise. Employee must possess hearing/speaking ability to communicate by phone to vendors/suppliers and to employees and other callers/customers. Must be able to move from school to school carrying/transporting heavy/bulky merchandise. Employee's job requires working on unprotected heights; Use of/close to machinery; working in the outdoors with temperature changes; driving motorized equipment; exposure to dust, fumes, gases. Must use safety precaution in handling certain items.
