Job summary

Dysart Middle School - El Mirage, AZ is seeking a 26/27 SY Elemiddle Girls Volleyball Coach. This part-time, non-benefited role reports to the Assistant Principal of Athletics and supports the athletics department.

The coach will organize practices, mentor student athletes, and supervise a complete program while upholding high ethical standards and safety guidelines. Immediate starting date is available.

Qualifications

• Valid Arizona teacher certification or Arizona coaching certification or NFHS Level 1 certification for head/varsity positions.
• Prior successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.
• Maintain AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.
• NFHS Concussion in Sports training completed.
• Cheer safety certification only needed for cheer roles.

Responsibilities

SUMMARY: Coaches student athletic programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coach student athletes in area of assigned responsibility.
• Organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, community members and vendors.
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
• Other job related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Valid Arizona teacher certification, or Arizona coaching certification, or Level 1 Certification issued by National Federation of High School Associations (NFHS) (This requirement is only for Head/Varsity positions)

EXPERIENCE:

• Previous successful coaching experience in the assigned sport.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC).
• Obtainand maintain First Aid/CPR certification.
• Completion of NFHS Concussion in Sports.
• Completion of NFHSCheer & Dance Safety Certificate (this requirement is for cheer positions only).

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work.
• Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices.
• Uses and properties of supplies and equipment.

ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this class require: pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Standing for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions: Work is routinely performed outdoor environment including exposure to noise and being on your feet. Requires standing in inclement weather including summer heat.
