Laurens County School District 55 is searching for a dedicated CHILD NUTRITION OPERATOR to prepare nutritious meals for students while ensuring a sanitary kitchen environment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a commitment to food safety.

CHILD NUTRITION OPERATOR

JOB SUMMARY: To prepare and serve nutritious meals for school children by using quantitative recipes and sanitary work habits. To maintain cleanliness of the cafeteria/kitchen area and any other related work designated by the school cafeteria manager.

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance.
One hundred eighty-five (185) days per year
Hours to be determined by the Cafeteria Manager and/or the Director of Child Nutrition Services
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, other employees and/or students.
Ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to apply simple understanding to carry out detailed but basic written and/or oral instructions.
Ability to develop effective working relationships with staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and the Board of Education policies.
