Description:

Position Overview

KIPP Charlotte seeks an experienced Exceptional Children (EC) Instructional Coach to provide coaching, technical assistance, professional development, and program support to special education staff. This is an independent contractor position that will remain in effect through December 31, 2026.

Scope of Services

The role is responsible for providing support in the following areas:

Instructional Coaching and Support

• Observe EC teachers and provide individualized feedback
• Support implementation of evidence-based instructional practices
• Model instructional strategies and intervention techniques
• Assist teachers in planning specially designed instruction
• Support effective progress monitoring practices
• Analyze student performance data with teachers and school leaders

Professional Learning

• Design and facilitate professional development sessions
• Support the development and mentoring of beginning EC teachers
• Develop resources, tools, and instructional supports for EC staff
• Provide coaching related to accommodations, modifications, and service delivery

Program Improvement

• Support implementation of inclusive practices and least restrictive environment (LRE) opportunities
• Assist with strengthening intervention systems and MTSS processes
• Support Child Find efforts and referral processes
• Collaborate with school leaders to identify instructional and programmatic improvement opportunities

Compliance Support

• Provide guidance regarding IDEA requirements and implementation
• Support high-quality IEP development and implementation
• Assist staff in maintaining documentation and progress monitoring systems
• Support implementation of state and district special education procedures

Requirements
