Temporary Faculty Pool – Lecturer in Business Communication
Department of Finance, Real Estate and Business Law, part of the Craig School of Business at Fresno State.
Position Summary
Teach undergraduate courses, primarily BA 105W (Business Communication) and other courses identified as needed to meet student educational goals.
Instructor Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, assignments, quizzes, class projects, and exams.
- Ensure all classes are offered and meet as scheduled throughout the semester, in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
Appointment Requirements
- Appointment is contingent on budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the university’s collective bargaining agreement.
- Must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States (Fresno State is not a sponsoring agency for Temporary Faculty positions).
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code 2358). For holders of a Master’s degree the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month for full‑time (15 WTUs). Actual monthly salary is adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned per term.
Academic Term
Positions are part of a temporary faculty pool that remains open for two academic terms. Applicants may need to begin teaching on short notice.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds; at least 3 years of professional experience in the field, or a doctorate obtained within the previous 5 years, or recent scholarly activity such as peer‑reviewed publications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, evidenced by prior teaching experience and evaluations.
- Successful undergraduate teaching experience.
- Relevant industry experience.
