Shift Incentive Opportunities

• $1.25 per hour for hours worked 5pm - 12am
• $2 per hour for hours worked 12am - 8am
• $3 per hour for weekends worked Friday 5pm - Monday 8am

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Supportive Services Coordinator, the Family Worker will provide Community Living Supports and Respite Care for youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) diagnosis who are receiving services in the behavioral health system. The Family Worker will act as a member of the treatment team by working with youth up to age 18 in both family homes and within the tri-county community. Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

• Skill development related to activities of daily living and assistance to achieve or maintain communication, socialization, and relationship-building skills and participation in leisure and community activities.
• Giving the youth and caregiver(s) a break to allow them to fill their reserves.
• Using modeling as well as teaching directly with structure, consistency and routine and allowing for practice of skills with reminders and prompts of behavior expectations followed up by reinforcing with incentives and rewards.
• Transportation of youth consumers in your personal vehicle within the tri-county area.

The Family Worker should possess a strong desire to help others with empathy, patience, understanding, enthusiasm and dedication. They should exhibit trustworthiness, integrity, and honesty, and have strong communication skills to support and model emotion regulation, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. They must complete necessary documentation in a timely manner, including effective oral and written communication, maintaining accurate records, using basic computer software, and performing other related duties as assigned. The Family Worker is responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

Conditional Employment Requirements

Employment offers will be contingent on Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record, and annual Central Registry Screening. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
