Job summary

Harvest Midstream Company is seeking an entry-level Operations Technician to monitor gas and liquid pipeline systems under supervision. You will learn control systems, record-keeping, and safety compliance while supporting the Plant Control Board team.

Ideal candidates will have 1–3 years of oil, gas, or related industrial experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on environment at our Durango site.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical/vocational or associate degree preferred in relevant field.
  • Driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Review prior shift activities and operating logs to assess system conditions.
  • Assist in monitoring pipeline and plant operations via control systems and procedures.
  • Monitor flow rates, pressures, temperatures, and equipment status; report abnormalities.
  • Learn to troubleshoot operational issues under supervision.
  • Maintain accurate logs, meter readings, test results, and records.
  • Support preventive maintenance with field personnel; document equipment status.
  • Prepare operational reports and maintain required documentation.
  • Follow procedures, environmental regulations, and safety standards.
  • Participate in training to develop technical knowledge of pipeline operations.
  • Commit to safe work practices and continuous learning.
  • Adhere to company values and mission; punctuality and attendance.
  • May be required for after-hours questions or emergencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Associate degree in Process Technology

Job Objective

Under direct supervision, monitors, maintains, and assists in controlling the safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operation of gas and liquid pipeline systems. Develops operational knowledge while supporting the Plant Control Board team and ensuring compliance with company policies and operating procedures.

  • Reviews prior shift activities and operating logs to gain awareness of system conditions.
  • Assists in monitoring pipeline and plant operations through control systems and established operating procedures.
  • Monitors product flow rates, pressures, temperatures, and equipment status, reporting abnormalities to senior operators or supervisors.
  • Learns to recognize operational issues and assists with troubleshooting under the guidance of experienced personnel.
  • Maintains accurate operating logs, meter readings, test results, and operational records.
  • Assists in monitoring alarms and communicates operational concerns promptly.
  • Supports preventive maintenance activities by coordinating with field personnel and documenting equipment status.
  • Assists with preparing operational reports and maintaining required documentation.
  • Follows company operating procedures, environmental regulations, and safety standards at all times.
  • Participates in required training to develop technical knowledge of pipeline and plant operations.

Qualifications
  • One (1) to three (3) years of oil and gas, pipeline, plant operations, or related industrial experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of process operations, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment.
  • Ability to learn pipeline and plant control systems and operating procedures.
  • Ability to solve routine problems with guidance from experienced operators.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in and around process areas.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Education Requirements, Certifications, Licenses, And Registrations
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical, vocational, or associate degree in Process Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required operator qualifications and certifications.
