25-26 Teacher English as a Second Language

Join to apply for the 25-26 Teacher English as a Second Language role at Marion P. Thomas Charter School.

About the Role

The ESL teacher will provide English language lessons to students from diverse backgrounds, plan engaging lessons, and motivate students to learn. The goal is to create a conducive learning environment that encourages interaction and improves English-speaking skills.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, CE, or CEAS in ESL.
  • Valid ESL teaching certificate (1475) issued by the NJ Department of Education.
Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to students' needs.
  2. Assess and report on student progress regularly.
  3. Instruct students in communication skills and other curriculum elements.
  4. Maintain classroom discipline and promote positive behavior.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with parents.
  6. Participate in professional development activities.
  7. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: BA $64,570 - $92,200 / MA $65,820 - $93,450. Employment term: 10.5 months. Union: MPTEA.
