Position Details

Responsibilities

The teacher is responsible for creating a safe, intellectually challenging learning environment where each student is actively engaged in meaningful activities. The teacher uses knowledge of adolescent development and content area to educate a diverse student population. Additionally, the teacher models lifelong learning by collaborating with students, parents, colleagues, and the community.

Major Duties
  1. Designs, plans, and delivers instruction using various methods and resources suitable for all learners.
  2. Creates and maintains a positive learning environment.
  3. Assesses student learning through formal and informal methods.
  4. Maintains required records.
  5. Communicates regularly with parents about student progress.
  6. Collaborates with colleagues, parents, the community, and other agencies to support student learning.
  7. Connects academic knowledge to real-life situations.
  8. Participates in professional development activities.
  9. Demonstrates professional knowledge.
  10. Performs other duties as per Board policies and state statutes.
Qualifications
  • Possess an Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate.

  • Have or be willing to obtain Essential Element of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training.
