Job description

Join to apply for the 25/26 SY Teacher Music role at Dysart Unified School District.

Summary:

To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for elementary grade education, in accordance with each pupil's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Teaches district-approved curriculum.
  2. Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and district regulations.
  3. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; provides individualized and small group instruction.
  4. Maintains communication with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences.
  5. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior.
  6. Evaluates students' academic and social growth; keeps records and prepares progress reports.
  7. Identifies student needs; makes referrals; develops strategies for individual education plans.
  8. Provides education-related support outside instructional hours.
  9. Coordinates work of aides, parents, and volunteers.
  10. Creates an engaging learning environment with displays and student work exhibits.
  11. Establishes good rapport with students, staff, community, and vendors.
  12. Maintains ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  13. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Valid Arizona teaching certificate.
  • Obtain and maintain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Knowledge of:
  • Reading and interpreting documents.
  • Effective communication and writing skills.
  • Basic math and principles of program administration.
  • Emerging educational technologies and trends.
  • Effective oral presentation techniques.
  • Use and properties of supplies and equipment.
Skills:
  • Research and problem-solving with minimal assistance.
  • Interpreting instructions in various formats.
  • Developing teaching plans and instructional materials.
  • Maintaining records and documentation.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

Positions require physical activities such as stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Work is primarily indoors in a classroom setting.
